Consultant Psychiatrist Opportunity at the University of Toronto Scarborough, Health and Wellness Centre
The University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) Health & Wellness Centre (HWC), is looking for an experienced psychiatrist with an interest in student/young adult mental health, to join our team.This is a contract position, providing psychiatric services within the Health & Wellness Centre.
The University of Toronto Scarborough’s Health & Wellness Centre is an integrated team that provides counselling and health services (primary care), as well as health promotion, to enrolled students. Psychiatrists work within an interdisciplinary team including administration, family physicians, registered nurses, and wellness counsellors to provide consultation and collaborative care within a short-term care model.
Currently, the team is interested in interviewing applicants for a part-time consultant psychiatrist role. The candidate possesses strong clinical skills with a capacity for interdisciplinary collaboration, including working alongside faculty members. Previous experience in working with transitional aged youth, and exposure to urgent care and shared care service delivery is an asset. Prior experience in the area of trauma and evidence-based psychotherapies (e.g., Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) are also assets for prospective applicants.
Candidates must hold an MD degree and be eligible for appointment at the University of Toronto. They must also be eligible for certification in Psychiatry with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada and licensure with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario.
